About SHINKA

THE BEGINNING

SHINKA was founded by Noël Saugy out of a personal pursuit — a focus on finding and understanding authentic vintage garments. What began as a passion for collecting gradually developed into a deeper exploration of workwear, military clothing and denim.

Each piece was chosen not for trend or nostalgia, but for what it represented: construction, purpose and time. Garments shaped by real use — worn, repaired and aged — carrying a history that cannot be reproduced.

Over time, this approach became a system. Sourcing turned into curation. Selection became a point of view. What started as individual pieces evolved into a coherent archive defined by quality, origin and a clear visual language.

THE STORE

SHINKA is a Switzerland-based store focused on curated vintage menswear. The selection moves between European workwear, military garments and American denim — brought together through a consistent standard rather than category.

We do not treat vintage as costume or trend. Each garment is considered for its relevance today — how it fits, how it wears, how it integrates into a modern wardrobe.

Our process is deliberate. Fewer pieces, stronger selection. Every item is individually sourced, evaluated and prepared before entering the collection. No mass, no filler — only garments with character and longevity.

SHINKA

THE APPROACH

At the core of SHINKA is selection. We work with original garments, each carrying its own history through wear, fading and repair. These traces are not flaws, but part of the garment’s identity.

At the same time, SHINKA is evolving. Alongside the curated vintage selection, we are in the process of developing our own pieces — always informed by vintage garments, their construction and their purpose. Not reproductions, but continuations.

We focus on materials that age well: denim, cotton, wool and leather. Fabrics that evolve over time and improve through use. Construction matters as much as appearance — stitching, hardware, cut and proportion are all part of the evaluation.

In a market driven by speed and constant turnover, SHINKA operates differently. There are no seasons. No fixed cycles. Pieces are released when they are found — or created — not when they are expected.

This creates a natural rhythm defined by availability, research and intention.

SHINKA

THE PHILOSOPHY

Vintage is not about looking back. It is about understanding what lasts.

SHINKA exists to offer garments that have already proven their value — through time, wear and use — while gradually building a collection that continues this logic forward.

The goal is not to accumulate, but to select better.

Less, but right.
